If you’re looking for unique handcrafted patterns and illustrations for your products we would love to hear from you. House of Springer offers ready designs as well as custom orders for licensing.
Below you can read more about the types of licensing we offer and what the process typically looks like. However, every collaboration is unique and if you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact us.
WHAT DOES LICENSING MEAN?
When you license a design from House of Springer it means that you purchase the right to reproduce it; for instance to print onto physical products for an agreed duration of time.
EXCLUSIVITY AND INDUSTRY
A Licensing Agreement can be either exclusive or non-exclusive and can include any number of designs from one pattern to a whole collection. Usually, a license covers one specific industry such as home-decor, fabric, wallpaper, stationery, nursery, technology covers etc.
COPYRIGHT
Whether you license a design exclusively or non-exclusively, House of Springer retains the Copyrights as the designer. When a licensing period expires all rights including reproduction rights revert back to us.
HOW IT WORKS
THE LICENSING PROCESS
The licensing process typically follows this 4 step process:
1. CHOOSE DESIGNS
The easiest way to get started is to choose between our ready designs. However, you can also request custom designs. You can read more about where to browse designs here.
2. CONTACT US
When you know what designs you are interested in, simply fill in the licensing form or send us a message. We will then get back to you with a quote.
3. SIGN Contract
To make sure that we’re aligned about the design, price, and terms of use, a Licensing Agreement is signed by all parties, before any design work commences.
4. Delivery
Once you’re happy with the designs, we will send the files to you and you can begin to produce beautiful products!
Price
We do not offer standard prices per design/license agreement. There are many reasons for this, but the main one is that every design is unique and that the time, process, and level of skill etc. that goes into creating every piece of art varies.
Some of the factors that will affect the price of a license are the number of designs, extent of exclusivity, length of agreement, design complexity, degree of customization, number of colour ways and so on.
